Diamonds are a girls best friend

These earrings are 2-1/2 ct TW diamond hoops, approximately 2" in diameter....they are large! 

A limited number of tickets will be sold and are $25/each, or 5 for $100.  Members in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase tickets and help support the Latin American Educational Foundation.

Drawing will take place on March 13th at the gala.

A Scholarship for F.I.R.E. members ONLY!

A committee composed of Ruben Ramirez, James Roybal and Dale Chavez have finished forming a scholarship to be awarded to the children of F.I.R.E. member(s).  The membership passed the 'motion' to allow funding (initially, two (2) scholarships awarded annually at $2,000.00 each and revised annually per budget) of this program.

The committees intent is to have applications ready to send out for the 2010 school year.

Pushing the H.R. Committee forward

Colorado Black Professional Fire Fighters (C.B.P.F.F.) President-Tony Martin and the F.I.R.E. Executive Board will meet on the May 15, 2009 to discuss ways to get the stagnent Local 858's-Human Relations Committee moving again.  The last meeting date for this committee was April  2007

Secretary Treasurer Aaron Jonke, has promised F.I.R.E. Executive Board members that he will make a "motion" at the next (DEC '09) Union Executive Board meeting that the H.R. Committee meet quarterly.

Help with WRITTEN Entry-Level

The GED/Adult Basic Education class offers coursework in reading, math, and language to prepare students to pass the GED (General Educational Development) Test or to improve skills. This class is recommended for candidates preparing for a career in the Denver Fire Department. The class is self-paced and open-entry with options for computerized or textbook-based classwork. A reading and math placement test is required prior to enrollment.
